APHA’s Keep it Moving Challenge
Happy New Year! KDHRC is excited about the impactful work we will undertake this year and the opportunity to explore new endeavors. In the spirit of New Year’s resolutions, the American Public Health Association (APHA) has launched their 2025 Winter Step Challenge to promote healthy behaviors as we kick off the new year. The challenge began on January 1st and will run until April 13th, concluding at the end of National Public Health Week. If you’re interested in participating in APHA’s Winter Challenge, you can visit the launch page here: APHA Keep It Moving Winter 2025 Challenge
At KDHRC, we are strong advocates for step challenges, as they encourage healthy and friendly competition among our staff while inspiring everyone to get outside and stay active. Walking offers numerous evidence-based health benefits, including improved heart circulation, lower cholesterol, enhanced mood, and even a longer lifespan. KDHRC hosts our step challenges twice a year, offering a fun and engaging way for participants to boost their physical activity and connect with others. The next challenge is set to take place in just a couple of months, providing plenty of time for staffers to locate their step counters and lace up their sneakers. Stay tuned for the results of our step challenge!
