Areas of Focus: research and program evaluation, social marketing and health communications, tobacco and drug abuse prevention, health promotion

Kristen’s vision when she founded KDHRC in 2006 was a small business focused on exploring and optimizing methods to present health information to persuade behavior change, support health and well-being, and measure and report successful interventions.

Today, her vision for KDHRC is to maintain and nurture an intrepid, nimble research institution with strong commitments to excellent work, productive partnerships, a supportive and enjoyable corporate culture that fosters professional growth for all employees, and a substantial and measurable impact on public health improvements.

Kristen leads KDHRC’s business development efforts and oversees project design and execution to meet these commitments. Her favorite parts of the research process are brainstorming new ideas, collaborating with partners to understand and meet their research goals, and conceptualizing programs to meet public health needs.

Under Kristen’s leadership, KDHRC has won multiple federal grants and contracts in the field of health communication, including work with the National Institutes of Health, top advertising agencies, and national professional associations. Kristen has published her research in prestigious academic journals, presented at professional meetings across the United States, and developed and disseminated many evidence-based products for parents, children, and teachers.

When not in her office, Kristen is often found at her children’s baseball games or swim meets. Her love of national parks, minor league stadiums, and diners often morphs into epic and sprawling road trips.
